The first of many to come... Nottingham car boot sale

The bank holiday weekend meant a return to Nottingham for me, and with that the inevitable car boot sale trips! I am a car boot sale lover, my whole family are and not ashamed of it! I get so many things from there and find it one of the nicest ways to spend a Sunday morning.

Bank holiday's are my absolute favourite, not only for the extra day in bed, but the fact that I can go to two car boot sales two days in a row. Heaven!
For the first one this year I decided to stay away from my usual Colwick Race Ground car boot in Nottingham and headed to a much smaller, more quaint car boot tucked away in the English countryside in a village called Gotham.

Colwick car boot is a really large car boot, and one which I've favoured for years, but lately I've noticed a shift in the type of people selling and buying. It's turned into more of a cattle market with people elbowing each other out of the way, and I've had to watch my bag a few times. Not quite how I want to spend my Sunday mornings! A lot of the 'regulars' are even starting to move away to the less profitable car boots in the area just for the better atmosphere and to regain that sense of community. However it's definitely still worth a visit, just get there early and have your wits about you, as there's still plenty of bargains to be found! Especially worth a look around the time when students are leaving University and heading back home... aka now!

Here's what I wore on Monday's trip:
Floral print trousers - George @ ASDA
Cream crochet top - TopShop

Spring's reappearance called for floral trousers! Which I paired with this cream crochet TopShop cami top and my converse for roaming around the countryside.
The tapestry drawstring bag was one of the previous day's purchases for 40p off of an old lady who we found out used to be best friends with my great grandmother!

This weekend's purchases have left me incredibly happy, and are hopefully an indication of the goodies to come! Post on my bargains soon!!

Primark has surprised me once again

Oh Primark you beauty, you’ve gone and surprised me once again. I tend to find Primark very hit and miss, sometimes I enter and just think to myself, what a load of rubbish, yet another time I find lots of pieces which could easily be confused for being much more expensive at a fraction of the price. The other day was one of the better days.

On a trip to Harrogate during my day off, I managed to find an empty well-stocked Primark (shock horror!). As I work full-time, I only ever usually get to experience Primark on a Saturday, which for those who haven’t experienced it, it is something which should be avoided at all cost! So this was a very pleasant experience compared to usual.

I am in love with this sheer black, fringed cover up, at only £7 it’s an absolute bargain, and in my opinion looks just like something you’d find in Topshop. I seem to have obtained quite the obsession with fringing lately, with 3 fringed pieces this month!

This turquoise stone necklace, also fringed (see what I mean), was only £3, at that price you can’t say no! It hangs at just the right height, and I’ve been looking for a longer, statement necklace for a while, so this is perfect.

I went on a slight sunglasses spree, but at £1.50 each it’s hard to resist! It’s pretty clear that I have a love of tortoise shell! P.s. the middle pair's my favourite!

Primark you are once again firmly back in my good books!

Sunday strolls - Wollaton Park

Missing spending my Sundays with my family strolling around Wollaton Park, my favourite place in my home town of Nottingham. Living away from home makes you appreciate what you have much more.

But Summer will be here before we know it!

In love with Sleek Pout Paint.

Sleek Pout Paint in Port - £4.99

I've had this for a while now, but I've recently become obsessed with it again. The bright pink colour is much stronger than what I'm used to, but I love how it brightens up any outfit. You only need the smallest bead of paint for full lip coverage as the pigment is so strong, and it lasts for hours. I might have to invest in the red shade of this, Pin Up, as well!

The boyfriend jeans

Boyfriend Jeans - H&M
Scallop edge Top - Topshop
Gold Spike Necklace - New Look
Leopard print Belt - Primark
Gold ribbed Socks - Topshop
Anchor Cut Out Ankle Boots - Topshop

I am completely in love with these jeans. Why did I not own jeans like this before!? Unlike skinny jeans which I've lived in for the last five years they actually allow my legs to breathe. Hence why these have hardly left my legs since I bought them. If you're thinking about getting a pair of boyfriend jeans, do it! They are extremely comfortable and versatile, and for £30 at H&M (these were £20 with £10 off of denim discount) they're an absolute bargain.

After my short spell in sunny Spain (post coming soon) I've been ill. I'm blaming sunshine withdrawal... Get me back to the beach, or a least make it warm enough again for a visit to a pub garden this weekend (please)!

My H&M wardrobe update for Spring

 Spring
n.

1. A source, origin, or beginning.
2. a. The season of the year, occurring between winter and summer,
during which the weather becomes warmer and plants revive.

b. A time of growth and renewal.
3. The earliest or freshest time of something

Spring’s arrival makes the world seem much more appealing, and fresh starts suddenly seem possible. Mornings are brighter, bluebells and daffodils are in full bloom and the sun is still shining at 7pm.

All of this means that my wardrobe is in desperate need of a new lease of life...

boyfriend jeans - £19.99 h&m
I’ve been after a pair of boyfriend jeans, and found the perfect pair in H&M for £19.99 (with £10 discount on denim). I don’t own jeans so this was something completely different to what I’d usually wear.
Although my sister says they look like my Dad’s jeans and they do nothing for my backside, I love them! Ultra comfy and relaxed, what’s not to like?

mint green trousers - £10 (sale) h&m
I found these mint green tailored trousers on the sale rail for £10. These will be perfect for work in spring with the cuffs rolled up and sandals.

cream lace pencil skirt - £1.25 (sale) h&m

Cream lace pencil skirt £1.25 (originally £30, down to £5, but with a yellow stain on it, now removed with the help of Vanish)) Best bargain ever! Is excellent quality, with a cream lining and is the most amazing fit as well.

new icons rings - £3.99, divided rings - £2.99 both h&m
These rings haven't left my fingers since I bought them, the divided ones started to go bronze quite quickly though.

Quite impressed with H&M lately, a lot of their pieces are hit and miss, but there are some good quality pieces at affordable prices, especially in the more 'grown up' section.

Long live the jelly shoes

Chanel Ad Campaign S/S '12

I've had my eye on these Chanel S/S '12 sandals for a long time now. Comfy and practical? Yes please!

I love this ad campaign shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself.Crisp white clothes against the sea, with a touch of gymnastics and sports references thrown in.

I found a very similar pair on eBay for £19.99, and they've just appeared on Topshop's website for spring (here)! Hello eagle eye!

The eBay ones come in all sorts of snazzy colours as well!

Find them here:

Multiple colours available here

I'm thinking the lilac pair (only available in size 3, lucky people with small feet!).

If not, then the silver glitter pair, taking me right back to my child hood. (My mum used to hate them, but at the age of twenty one she can't tell me off now!)

Plain black ones available here

Or if you feel like splashing out, you can also find the Chanel ones on eBay.

Happy ebaying!

(I've just bought a dark grey glitter pair on eBay for a bargain!)
