The first of many to come... Nottingham car boot sale

The bank holiday weekend meant a return to Nottingham for me, and with that the inevitable car boot sale trips! I am a car boot sale lover, my whole family are and not ashamed of it! I get so many things from there and find it one of the nicest ways to spend a Sunday morning.

Bank holiday's are my absolute favourite, not only for the extra day in bed, but the fact that I can go to two car boot sales two days in a row. Heaven!
For the first one this year I decided to stay away from my usual Colwick Race Ground car boot in Nottingham and headed to a much smaller, more quaint car boot tucked away in the English countryside in a village called Gotham.

Colwick car boot is a really large car boot, and one which I've favoured for years, but lately I've noticed a shift in the type of people selling and buying. It's turned into more of a cattle market with people elbowing each other out of the way, and I've had to watch my bag a few times. Not quite how I want to spend my Sunday mornings! A lot of the 'regulars' are even starting to move away to the less profitable car boots in the area just for the better atmosphere and to regain that sense of community. However it's definitely still worth a visit, just get there early and have your wits about you, as there's still plenty of bargains to be found! Especially worth a look around the time when students are leaving University and heading back home... aka now!

Here's what I wore on Monday's trip:
Floral print trousers - George @ ASDA
Cream crochet top - TopShop

Spring's reappearance called for floral trousers! Which I paired with this cream crochet TopShop cami top and my converse for roaming around the countryside.
The tapestry drawstring bag was one of the previous day's purchases for 40p off of an old lady who we found out used to be best friends with my great grandmother!

This weekend's purchases have left me incredibly happy, and are hopefully an indication of the goodies to come! Post on my bargains soon!!

Sunday strolls - Wollaton Park

Missing spending my Sundays with my family strolling around Wollaton Park, my favourite place in my home town of Nottingham. Living away from home makes you appreciate what you have much more.

But Summer will be here before we know it!

Christmas is upon us.

I recently splashed out in H&M on a pair of tight black shorts and a glittery, gold fine knit jumper.

shorts - £25, jumper - £19.99 both h&m

I love the jumper and can tell its going to stay in my wardrobe for a very long time. The shorts are definitely not my usual style, but I had a RAG Model Launch Party at Warehouse in Leeds and wanted something different to my usual style to wear. I wore them with thick black tights and wedges so that they weren’t too revealing.

This is my second glittery jumper I’ve purchased this month. Definitely seeing a metallic, glittery theme occurring in my wardrobe at the moment, a sure sign that Christmas has arrived. Are you feeling particularly festive?

Home is where the heart is.

Yay the Christmas holidays have begun! I say holiday but it’ll be full of revision, but also festive fun! This year I’ve been getting overly excited about Christmas and spending time with my friends from home and family. Don’t get me wrong I love university, but it’s lovely to be looked after and cared for, at least for a little while.

A couple of weeks ago I hopped back to Nottingham and managed a quick shop round my favourite charity shop of all time, Honeycomb, a Christian charity shop in my village. I will definitely have to do a post about it during this holiday. I’m considering offering to volunteer there this Christmas, purely to gain access to the upstairs where I have been granted access to only twice before, and is an absolute treasure chest of goodies all at incredibly cheap prices. (Post to come)

I made a few purchases; this bright mustard scarf I got for £1. As mentioned previously I love this colour, but couldn’t quite commit to a whole cardigan in it, so this scarf is the perfect amount colour injection to an outfit. I got these silver and red earrings and I also found a ring that I bought previously but then lost for £2.00 in the Topshop sale so I snapped that up as well.

I also got a sparkly black and gold top and a red glittery Christmas jumper just to add some extra festive spirit to my wardrobe.

For my bedroom I found this gorgeous old-fashioned water decanter for my bedside table and this book of ‘The Classic Novels’ by Jane Austen.

After reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte over the summer I’ve decided to tackle more old classics in a bid to be more ‘cultured’ plus I like the old-fashioned language and the nostalgic feeling you get when reading them.  I just need to find the time to sit down and read it now.
